PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
FEASIBILITY STUDIES
Inventory of the natural conditions on the site, development of programs
for the preservation of existing plant materials, analysis of project
potential, cost control studies, determination of physical,
environmental, governmental, and other constraints.
PROGRAMMING
Working closely with the client, the architect and others, develop and record the
needs of the client, make recommendations for applications on the site,
and establish the basis for design of the project.
MASTER PLANNING
Preparation of a plan for long-range, rational development of the site,
including phasing and cost projections.
SITE PLANNING
Development of a specific plan to accomplish the design
goals of the owner. The plan includes the work of the architect and
others, the building functions, site uses, site constraints, and
governmental requirements.
SITE ENGINEERING
The relatively large cost of this work requires an understanding
of the technical aspects of sitework, and this is a major strength of
the firm (see the profile). Working closely with technicians of all disciplines, the
recommendations of the engineers are blended carefully with the subjectives of
landscape design.
DESIGN
Investigation of design alternatives and through discussion and
clarification with the owner, architects, and others concerned, and
preparation of design studies, drawings, and models to illustrate the
scale and intent of the landscape work. Preparation of drawings,
specifications, and contracts necessary to accomplish the work, and
observation of the progress of construction.
POST-PROJECT
Preparation of a maintenance manual, follow up with contractors and maintenance
personnel, and periodic visits at any time at the clients' request to
discuss the progress of the installed landscape.
