EMERY ROGERS

 

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

Emery Rogers studied landscape architecture at Harvard University, receiving a Master of Landscape Architecture in 1974.  Before that Mr. Rogers served for 3 years as an infantry officer in the United States Army.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Oregon State University where he studied civil engineering and landscape architecture.  

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE 

After moving to San Francisco in 1974, Mr Rogers served an apprenticeship with the landscape architectural firm of Johnson, Leffingwell & Guthrie, then located at 730 Montgomery Street. In 1978 he became a Registered Landscape Architect and he opened his own practice at 708 Montgomery Street. He has maintained that practice for over 24 years, designing the gardens for over 600 projects.

From 1994 to 2000, when he moved to San Jose, Mr Rogers was a member of the San Francisco Art Commission, and Chaired the Commission's Civic Design Committee and Street Artists Program Committee.

Mr Rogers is a registered landscape architect in California, number 1614
